The University Faculty Senate Committee is accepting applications for their various committees and positions!  Take a look at their webpage and see if there are any that look interesting to you, then apply online.  Participation with the faculty senate is a good way to show service to the university.

DEPARTMENTAL NEWS

Beer signsTiah has been participating in a pop culture conference in San Diego this week, where she has done an OHBA related presentation. Check out Tiah's blog post on a beer history exhibit at San Diego's Museum of Man. 

 

On Monday, Art Boucot went in for surgery to replace a heart valve and he passed away from post-op complications.  Art was a well-known patron here at Valley Library.  He loved the library and was a strong supporter, especially regarding our journals collection.  A prolific author and editor, he will be missed.

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT EVENTS

Building Manager – Our last candidate will be coming in on Friday. Again, please fill out the survey to let us know what you think of the applicants.

Web Developer –  Virtual interviews will be occurring next week for the four candidates for this position. Everyone should have received the notification for those, and there might be standing room only. If that's the case, people may have to tune in through webex from their workstations.

Resource Sharing/CM Unit Manager – Two candidates were interviewed last week. Links went out, and we ask that people please submit their responses on how they think the interviews went.

Rachel Lilley, the new LT3 in SCARC, will be starting Today (Monday).  Come by the 5th floor and say hello!
