Oregon State University has joined PeerJ's Annual Institutional Membership (AIMs) program. With this membership, OSU students, staff, and faculty can now publish to any PeerJ journal without having to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC).

PeerJ offers so many opportunities for OSU authors. There are so many journals to publish in, with open calls routinely posted to the main PeerJ site. Some of the journals available with PeerJ include: Life & Environment, Physical Chemistry, Computer Science, Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, and more.

According to the PeerJ Blog article, PeerJ Welcomes Oregon State University to the AIMs Program: Facilitating Open Access Publishing for OSU Authors, "OSU authors who submit to PeerJ as the corresponding or submitting author, and using a verified OSU email address, will be automatically eligible to publish without any additional fees. Those affiliated with OSU, but using a different email address, can manually request to publish using OSU’s Institutional Membership, and should contact authors@peerj.com.for more information.

Oregon State University strongly supports open access to maximize the impact of its world-class faculty and fulfill its land grant mission. OSU Libraries and Press are key contributors to open access initiatives, following the unanimous passage of an open access policy by the Faculty Senate in 2013.  In addition to the public benefit of such dissemination, this policy is intended to serve faculty interests by promoting greater reach and impact for articles. To learn more about how OSU Libraries and Press can facilitate dissemination of research through open access, please visit the OPEN Access LibGuide."

PeerJ put together a fantastic video to show users how to use this institutional membership. Watch PeerJ's "How to use your Institutional Membership with PeerJ" here.
