The Valley Library Reading Room is announcing a call for art about Joy and invites all OSU community members to submit artwork.

Read the following Artist Contract and Submission Guidelines prior to bringing work to submit to this open call.
ARTIST CONTRACT
Originality and Quality
Any work submitted to the Reading Room: Joy Call for Art is my original work. Contributions of creative material for works are credited to original sources/artists.
Submitted work must be completed, dry, and sturdy enough to hang. Work must also be prepared for hanging prior to submission.
Promotion
Submitted work may be photographed and used on OSULP social media to promote the Reading Room, the Joy collection, and the Valley Library. Any promotion of art will feature the artist’s name and social media handle(if provided by the artist).
Responsibility
Artists understand that OSULP faculty, staff, and student employees do not assume responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of any submitted artworks.
Display of work
Work will be on display during OSU Spring term from week 3 until week 10.
*OSULP retains the right to deny entry of artwork for any reason including, but not limited to: size constraints, subject matter, content, and/or quality.
Art sales
OSULP will not arrange for the sale of any artwork on display. The artist will fill out an artist tag with their name, email, and/or social media handles; all sale inquiries will be directed to the artist.
Waiver of Liability
Once this form is submitted electronically or physically, I understand that OSULP, OSU faculty, staff, and student employees are not personally liable for any damage, loss, theft, or incidental accident involved in the handling and display of submitted artwork.
*OSULP will not store art over summer break. It is the responsibility of the submitting artist to make arrangements to pick up their work. Art that remains at the library after 6 months will be donated to OSU Surplus.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
You can submit up to 2 pieces
Artwork must be 2D (Canvas or framed art)
Artwork can be: painting, drawing, print, typed poem, or any flat work
18" x 18" is the maximum size* (email with questions)
Artwork must weigh less than 10 pounds
Have a hanging mechanism (hooks or wire in back)
Submission is open to everyone in the OSU community, this includes students, faculty, staff, and community members unaffiliated with the college
All submitted art must follow the Reading Room theme and abide by OSU's code of conduct
